Disney Jr. online television
Disney Jr. is the French edition of the preschool brand of The Walt Disney Company, a children's channel aimed at viewers between three and seven years old and operated for the French market. It began on 2 November 2002 under the name Playhouse Disney, launched together with a timeshift version of the main channel and a film channel, and it was rebranded as Disney Junior on 28 May 2011, the same day its high-definition version went on air, which made it the first children's channel in France to broadcast in HD.
The schedule is built for preschoolers and for the adults who watch with them: animated series of short episodes, music and songs, gentle stories about friendship, family and everyday discoveries, and longer films at the weekend. Programming was originally broadcast fifteen hours a day, from six in the morning until nine in the evening, and the catalogue has been renewed regularly since the rebrand, when the company announced a slate of new series for the season across its children's channels. Everything is dubbed and produced in French, with voices recorded locally, and a music strand associated with the brand has been used around the preschool block.
At the end of 2024 the channel left the package of one of the country's main pay-television operators after an exclusive distribution agreement was not renewed, and new distribution arrangements followed, while the channel itself continues to broadcast and to publish its programmes online. Viewers can Watch Live from a browser and stream online on a phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV where their operator allows it, and the official French site carries the daily grid, the series pages, games and video clips. Watch TV Online Free clips and songs from the preschool library, follow the morning block and keep a steady France Live Stream of children's television: a real TV Online window onto Disney Junior in France.
