Disney International HD is an Indian pay-television channel owned by JioStar, the joint venture between Viacom18 and Disney India, and it was the first channel of Disney India to broadcast in high definition, in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The licence was applied for on 17 March 2017 and approved by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 1 September 2017, and the channel went on air on 29 October 2017, taking over the slot of a previous broadcaster whose programming moved elsewhere. Its schedule is built mainly on the American originals of the Disney catalogue, and it is funded primarily by subscriptions, with advertising as a secondary source of revenue.

The channel is aimed at viewers between fourteen and twenty-five, an older audience than the two-to-fourteen range of the other Disney networks in the country, and the catalogue was assembled for that age group: an exclusive library of more than 1,500 episodes drawn from thirty live-action series, together with more than a hundred Disney films chosen for the same audience. The move followed a decision taken in April 2016, when Disney Channel India dropped live-action programming in favour of local animation because those shows performed better in the ratings.

Event programming has included premieres timed to national dates: on 15 August 2021, Indian Independence Day, the original film Spin premiered here two days after its first release.
