Disney Channel online television
Disney Channel is the Bulgarian edition of the international children's network of The Walt Disney Company, a pay-television channel for kids and family viewing that started broadcasting on 19 September 2009 in place of Jetix Eastern Europe. The feed is managed from Britain and is shared with the Romanian version of the channel, localised for each country. Its history goes back to April 1999, when the network first appeared in Central and Eastern Europe as Fox Kids, was renamed Jetix in 2004 and passed to Disney after the company bought Jetix Europe in full.
Programming is built for two audiences inside one household: animated series and live-action comedies for school-age children and teenagers, and feature films from the Disney library in the evening and at weekends. The schedule is organised in blocks through the day, with shorter series in the morning and after school, longer films in the prime evening hours, and the official Bulgarian site publishes the daily grid so that parents can plan around it. For preschoolers the same group runs a sister channel, Disney Junior, on air in Bulgaria since June 2009, so the two services divide the audience by age rather than competing for it. The channel is dubbed and voiced in Bulgarian, and the continuity and the website are produced for the local market.
The channel is carried by cable, satellite and internet television operators in Bulgaria, and its live signal is also distributed as an internet stream, so viewers can Watch Live from a browser and stream online on a phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV. Watch TV Online Free clips, trailers and the local video library of the Bulgarian edition, follow the daily grid and keep a steady Bulgaria Live Stream of children's television running through the afternoon: a real TV Online window onto the Bulgarian Disney feed.
