Abai TV is a Kazakhstani cultural and educational television channel launched on June 1, 2020, as part of the Republican Television and Radio Corporation Kazakhstan (RTRC), a state-owned broadcaster . The channel was created on the initiative of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Abai Kunanbaiuly, and its headquarters are located on Moskva Street, 33a, in Astana, Kazakhstan. As a dedicated source for online television, Abai TV broadcasts 17 hours daily from 7:00 AM to midnight under the slogan “A Mirror of Intellect”, with 80 percent of programming in the Kazakh language and 20 percent in Russian, focusing on national and world culture, art, history, and spiritual heritage.

The channel has produced 190 documentary films about prominent figures in culture, art, and history, and translates world art masterpieces into the Kazakh language. Notable personalities working on the channel include writers Zhussipbek Korgasbek, Sagatbek Kaliyev, and Saken Sybanbay, poets Kalkaman Sarin and Nazira Berdaly, kobyzist Gaziza Gabdrakhimova, artist Leila Makhat, art critic Moldiyar Yergobek, and veteran TV presenters Kymbat Doszhan, Svetlana Kokovinets, and Zhanyl Asylbekova.

For audiences seeking a reliable live stream of Kazakh cultural content, Abai TV is widely available as a free-to-air service via the national satellite operator Otau TV, as well as on cable networks Alma TV and ID TV. The channel broadcasts in MPEG-4 SD format from the KazSat 2 and KazSat 3 satellites at 86.5 and 58.5 degrees East, with encrypted options for subscription packages using Irdeto, Videoguard, and Nagravision systems.
