C Star online television
CStar is a French free-to-air television channel owned by the Canal+ Group, broadcasting music and entertainment on channel 17 of the national TNT grid. The station went on air as D17 on 7 October 2012, taking the place of Direct Star after Canal+ bought the frequency from the Bolloré group, and it was rebranded under its current name on 5 September 2016. Its identity is built around music: clips, concerts, festivals and ceremonies fill the day, with artist interviews and behind-the-scenes reports between them.
The musical grid runs from chart hits to live performances, and the channel is a regular broadcaster of festival weekends and award ceremonies. Documentaries on artists and music history sit alongside series and films, and in the D17 years the channel was known for its Japanese anime blocks. A sister service, CStar Hits France, launched in February 2018, plays nothing but French music clips. Together they make the Canal+ group's free-to-air window for music on French television.
Watch Live when a concert night or a ceremony goes out, because the CStar Live Stream carries the same feed that French households receive on TNT channel 17. Use this TV Online service on a phone, a tablet, a computer or a television set, Watch TV Online Free wherever the feed is open, stream online when a festival weekend is on, and keep the France Live Stream running for the music of the country.
