BRTV is the on-air name of Bizim Radyo ve Televizyon, a local Turkish broadcaster licensed for both local television and local radio, operated by Bizim Radyo Televizyon Yayıncılık Ticaret A.S. from Zonguldak Caddesi in Karabük. Its published transmission media are terrestrial and satellite, with the satellite feed on Türksat 4A at 12265 vertical, symbol rate 27500, FEC 5/6, in standard definition. The masthead names Mehmet Çetinkaya as chairman of the board and responsible manager, Osman Çetinkaya as deputy chairman and audience representative, Zafer Acar as general manager and Nazan Yılmaz as news director.

The station opened on 29 March 1996, inaugurated by Cemal Ayman, the first governor of Karabük, and it broadcast terrestrially for eighteen years before moving to the German Astra satellite and later to Türksat, describing itself as the only Türksat satellite channel of the Western Black Sea region. Karabük itself became Turkey's 78th province on 6 June 1995, which is why the plate code 78 appears in the station's own handles; the province covers 4,142 square kilometres with 252,058 residents recorded in 2022, and its six districts - Karabük, Safranbolu, Eskipazar, Eflani, Ovacık and Yenice - are exactly the six news sections of the website.
