BritAsiaTV online television
BritAsiaTV is a British media network for a British Asian audience, run from Birmingham and best known as the country's self-described number one British Asian music and entertainment channel. The television channel launched on 7 April 2008, a radio station followed in 2020, and the brand built its reputation on an annual music awards ceremony, later adding a Punjabi film awards event in 2018. Coverage spans music videos, talk shows, documentaries, news and live events, with bhangra, film music, urban and desi hip-hop in the playlist.
Distribution has changed shape several times. The channel was carried on satellite television from 2008 until 2025 and on cable between 2017 and 2020; playout was handed to an outside facility in August 2017, the year ownership passed from the founding brothers to a consortium with a new chief executive. On 8 January 2025 linear satellite transmission stopped in favour of digital distribution and digital radio, and in August 2026 the channel returned to the satellite platform in full high definition on number 742, presented as the first British South Asian channel in HD there.
The internet feed is published openly and is the same address used by the player on the official site, running in four second segments with the sequence advancing in real time.
