Teledeporte is the public-service sports channel in Spain, operated by the country’s national broadcaster. Its schedule is built around live coverage of a wide range of athletic events, from football and basketball to handball, cycling, and motorsports. The channel also dedicates airtime to less mainstream disciplines such as athletics, swimming, and winter sports, often broadcasting competitions that would otherwise go unseen on commercial networks. News bulletins and magazine-style programs provide analysis, interviews, and updates on Spanish athletes and international tournaments. Outside of live sport, the channel occasionally airs documentaries focused on sporting history, training methods, or notable figures in the field.

Viewers can access the channel through standard terrestrial television in Spain, as well as via cable and satellite platforms. A live stream is available on the broadcaster’s website, and many programs are later added to an on-demand library. The channel’s schedule is published weekly in print and online TV guides, with times subject to change depending on the duration of live events. Teledeporte does not carry advertising, as it is funded through public money, which allows it to prioritize coverage of events that might not attract commercial sponsorship.
