No ar, a programação do TPA Internacional era composta por uma seleção dos melhores programas dos canais domésticos TPA 1 e TPA 2. Sua grade incluía telejornais, programas de variedades, entretenimento, documentários e magazines, além de blocos específicos para a atração de investimentos para Angola. O conteúdo tinha como foco a realidade política, social, econômica e cultural do país, visando manter a comunidade angolana no exterior informada e conectada com a sua origem.

O TPA Internacional estava disponível em Portugal via cabo (NOS e MEO) e em grande parte da Europa (incluindo França, via Free) e América através de transmissão por satélite. Os parâmetros técnicos satélite incluíam a recepção através do satélite Eutelsat W3A (7º este) em sinal aberto para a Europa. O canal também estava disponível em Moçambique através das operadoras ZAP e TV Cabo.

Segundo a administração da TPA, o TPA Internacional procurava mostrar ao mundo uma visão actualizada e construtiva de Angola, servindo como um elo de ligação entre o país e os falantes de língua portuguesa. A missão do canal era proporcionar momentos de entretenimento e informação de qualidade à comunidade angolana emigrada, bem como a todos os interessados na realidade do país. Embora hoje tenha sido descontinuado, o legado do TPA Internacional foi de ter aproximado a diáspora angolana da sua pátria durante os seus 14 anos de existência. Graças às modernas plataformas digitais e satélite, o canal proporcionava a oportunidade de assistir online à transmissão em direto, garantindo que os angolanos espalhados pelo mundo se mantivessem ligados ao seu país.

On air, TV Zimbo features a daily production of 15 hours of original content, including seven hours of news and informative programs and eight hours of entertainment. The flagship news program is the Jornal da Zimbo, which provides credible and impartial information. Other key programs include Debate Livre, a journalistic program focused on debating prominent issues in Angola; Nossa Terra, a travel program that explores Angola's beauty, curiosities, and cultural habits; and Sexto Sentido, a morning talk show centered on women's topics with three hours of entertainment.

The channel's leading entertainment program is A Tarde É Nossa, an afternoon show that has become a leader in its time slot, showcasing Angola's cultural, social, and human dimensions. The program Zimbando, which first appeared in 2009, has returned for a new season featuring games, life stories, and tributes to professionals. Other regular segments include Vitrine, a magazine program; Especial Amo Luanda; and Carnaval Live, covering Angola's Carnival celebrations. The channel also participates in special projects, such as the Paróquia Virtual Angola, an online religious initiative.

Djamila Alves began her career at TV Zimbo in April 2017 as a reporter and currently presents the program Vitrine. Igor Benza has been with the channel since 2014 and is the host of A Tarde É Nossa; he has been recognized as the most beloved presenter by Angolan audiences and has won three Moda Luanda awards for Best Presenter. Stela Carvalho, known as Stela Blindada Por Deus, has eight years of experience as a presenter and hosts the program Momento da Blindada, which has been recognized as one of the most-watched programs in Angola; she has won the Globos Zap 2020 award for Best Presenter. Geovany Comandala, Guilherme da Paixão (Gui-da-Paixão), and Adilson Chifuanda are also part of the channel's team. Adilson Chifuanda edits and presents the consumer protection program Defesa do Consumidor, the only program of its kind on Angolan television. Other listed presenters include Kussi Eugênio and Amilcar Xavier, a journalist who began his career at TPA in 1985 and now presents debate and interview programs at TV Zimbo. Dicla Burity was selected as the host for the new season of the program Zimbando.

Previously a private broadcaster, TV Zimbo transitioned to public ownership in 2020. In September 2024, the channel launched its international service, TV Zimbo Internacional, which is available in Mozambique, Cape Verde, and Portugal, with plans to expand to other European countries. In Portugal, the channel is carried on the NOS platform on channel 193. The international service aims to reach the Angolan diaspora, which numbers over 410,000 people in Portugal alone, and to promote Angola as a tourist and investment destination.

TV Zimbo is available throughout Angola via digital terrestrial television. The channel is also carried on satellite providers including DStv Angola (channel 692) and ZAP (channel 3), as well as on ZAP Fibra (channel 3 HD).
