FNX First Nations Experience

FNX, conocido como First Nations Experience, es el primer y único canal de televisión nacional en Estados Unidos dedicado por completo a las culturas indígenas de América y del mundo. Creado en alianza entre la Nación Yuhaaviatam de San Manuel y el Distrito Universitario Comunitario de San Bernardino, este medio sin fines de lucro emite desde los estudios de KVCR-PBS en California. Su programación ofrece una ventana auténtica a las tradiciones, historias y voces de los pueblos nativos, combinando entretenimiento, educación y orgullo cultural.

La parrilla incluye documentales producidos por realizadores indígenas, series dramáticas, programas de cocina, jardinería, naturaleza y contenidos infantiles que reflejan la diversidad de las comunidades originarias. Los espectadores pueden ver en vivo la señal del canal y acceder a una amplia variedad de episodios que muestran la vida contemporánea y las contribuciones de estas culturas a la sociedad. Todo el material se selecciona con el objetivo de educar, inspirar y romper estereotipos.

En mayo de 2025, FNX dio un gran paso al lanzar su propia plataforma gratuita de transmisión por internet, celebrando el evento con una gala de alfombra roja. Esta nueva opción permite a cualquier persona sintonizar la televisión en línea sin costo, ampliando el alcance de contenidos que antes solo estaban disponibles por antena o cable. La iniciativa refuerza el compromiso del canal de llevar las historias indígenas a audiencias globales de forma accesible.

Desde su debut en Los Ángeles en 2011 y su expansión nacional en 2014, FNX se ha consolidado como un referente en la representación mediática de los pueblos originarios. Su misión es clara: utilizar los medios para expresar la riqueza cultural, la resiliencia y el arte de las naciones indígenas, ofreciendo una programación de alta calidad que conecta a las audiencias con perspectivas únicas y a menudo invisibilizadas.
