Cat manages to get away and saves Hutch's life. When Cat is kidnapped later by other crooks, Hutch has to reciprocate. But they still have Bill to worry about.

After his cavalry company is decimated by an Apache attack, Vinson takes charge and tries to lead his remaining men to safety. The enlisted men, especially the rebellious McGurney, question Vinson's leadership and even his morality, but the soldiers must stick together if they wish to make it through Apache lands.
