Africa TV 2 online television

Africa TV 2, on air and online as Africa TV2, is a Swahili religious channel from Tanzania devoted to Islamic teaching. Its own channel page describes a station specialising in Islamic content that leans to no school of jurisprudence and stays out of politics, while defending rights through peace and cooperation. Tanzanian viewers receive it on the Azam TV decoder at channel 457, and the station has published its broadcasts online since January 2012, with an archive that now runs to nearly 10,000 recordings. The banner line of the station is ulinganiaji, the Swahili word for the invitation to the faith.

The week is organised around worship and study rather than entertainment. Kutoka Mimbarini carries the Friday sermon and prayer from mosques such as Masjid Ambiyaa, Jifunze Qur'an and Uliza Ujibiwe fill Saturday with recitation and with open questions from viewers, and Sauti za Dhahabu is a recitation contest whose early rounds are recorded in mosques from Temeke and Kigamboni in Dar es Salaam to Mkuranga in Pwani. Ramadan adds Fiqh ya Funga with Sheikh Sharif Abdulqadir Al Ahdal and the nightly Sawaidalikhaa. Named teachers carry the lectures, among them Sheikh Pembe, Sheikh Yusuf Abdi, Sheikh Muharama Mwaita and Sheikh Mziwanda, beside the Nuru ya Mushidina podcast and the nasheed sessions.
